Hirzel Farms offers several corn options selected for yield potential, plant health, standability, and adaptability.
Featured varieties include Blue River 46-02P (a Hirzel Farms favorite variety)/Viking RU46-02P, a 102-day hybrid with consistent performance, strong emergence, disease tolerance, and good stalks and roots. Blue River 84-04P is a 104-day hybrid designed to combine yield and grain quality, while Blue River 48-08P offers strong emergence and performance for both grain and silage. Growers looking for an earlier option can also consider Blue River 73-97P, a 97-day hybrid with strong agronomics, fast drydown, and a wide harvest window.
Soybean Options for Midwest Acres
Our featured soybean selections include Blue River/Viking 2418N, 27B4, and 30B6.
These varieties offer different relative maturities and agronomic characteristics to fit varying field conditions. The 2418N has performed well from Minnesota to Ohio and provides Phytophthora protection. The 27B4 was a trial winner in the 2025 Iowa State University Central District summary, while the 30B6 combines consistent yields with heat and drought stress tolerance and a strong disease package.
Alfalfa for Yield, Quality and Persistence
Hirzel Farms also carries Blue River and Viking alfalfa varieties selected for different production needs.
Options highlighted for the coming season include Blue River/Viking 374HD, 394AP, Viking 442LH, and Viking 530YP. Depending on the variety, characteristics include forage yield and quality, disease resistance, persistence, traffic tolerance, and suitability for different cutting systems. Viking 442LH also features built-in leafhopper resistance.
